Albert Ammons - Albert’s Special Boogie Woogie

“Albert’s Special Boogie Woogie” as a piano instrumental was originally recorded and released by Albert Ammons in 1944 for Boogie Woogie Records – music composed by Albert Ammons. The audio for this video was found on a 2005 compilation album titled, “Chicago: Inner City Blues” which is part of a CD anthology series titled, “The Roots of American Music” by Delta Music. Albert Ammons, as an American pianist and player of the boogie-woogie music style was born September 23, 1907 in Chicago, Illinois. Ammons learned to play by the age of ten. Although the boogie-woogie music fad faded in 1945, Ammons had little difficulty in securing work as a pianist. He continued to tour and performed as a solo artist; and, between 1946 and 1949 recorded for Mercury Records. Albert Ammons died on December 2, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. Due to conflicting copyright information, the producer of this video cites ownership as Copyright 2005 Delta Music - respectfully yours, Anishnaube.
