Nagwa Sultan (1975) نجوى سلطان

Nagwa Sultan is the bellydancer in this scene from the 1975 Egyptian film ’Mamnou fi leylat al dokhla’ (Forbidden on the Wedding Night فيلم ممنوع فى ليلة الدخله ). The film’s a comedy and tells the story of Tahseen (Adel Imam) who wants to marry Mona (Soheir Ramzi) but Mona’s domineering mother Zareefa (Nabila al Sayed) is against the marriage as she thinks her daughter can do better. One day while out walking Zareefa falls through an open manhole and drowns returning as a ghost who can only be seen by Tahseen. She’s flying through the air in part of this clip. Shortly afterwards Tahseen and Mona marry and Zareefa’s widower Ashour (Mohammad Reda) wastes no time marrying his long time mistress Zoba, played by bellydancer Nagwa Fouad. Zoba and Ashour’s wedding party is shown in this scene. The man sitting between the bride and groom is comedian Seif Allah Mokhtar. The singer is Shafik Galal.
