“Rosa“ by Pixinguinha (arr. Dyens)

If you were wondering if “rosa“ translates from Portuguese to “rose,“ then you’d be right! Give yourself a pat on the back! The tune is originally from Brazil, written by one of the most famous black musicians in the country: Alfredo da Rocha Viana Filho, or better known as Pixinguinha. I originally heard this arrangement performed by Odair Assad when I was a teenager and immediately fell in love with it (and him). Years later I finally mustered the courage to play it, which was no easy task - customary of an arrangement by Roland Dyens. But hey, I think it came out alright!
