Kathy Kirby - I Can’t Say Goodbye (1961)

Here’s a rare early recording featuring a pre-fame Kathy performing a ’50’s rockaballad, originally recorded by the Fireflies of “You Were Mine“ fame. Their single of “I Can’t Say Goodbye“ charted at #90 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1960. In the UK, the song was recorded in early 1960 by the Kestrels. Kathy’s version was recorded in 1961 and eventually released on the 1964 compilation album, “Stars from Stars and Garters“ featuring tracks by artists from the TV show.
