Haman Nakhwanori(함안 낙화놀이) in South Korea

Haman Nakhwanori It is a traditional folk custom which has been held around Mujin -wall, Haman, on every Buddha’s Birthday to wish local people’s happiness. 군민의 안녕을 기원하는 뜻에서 매년 석가탄신일에 무진정 일대에서 열리는 함안 고유의 민속놀이다. During Japanese colonial rule, it was forced to stop because of the national extermination policy. It restored and has been held the events for local people since 1985. 일제 강점기에는 민족정기 말살정책에 따라 중단되었다가 1985년 복원되어 매년 행사를 실시하여 함안군민의 안녕을 기원하고 있다. Since 30th October 2008, it has named ’Haman Nakhwa(means falling flowers) nori’ and has been the 33th intangible culture property in Gyeongsang namdo. 2008년 10월 30일 ‘함안 낙화놀이’라는 이름으로 경상남도 무형문화재 제33호로 지정되어 지금에 이르고 있다.
