Bio By She Rox All Female Bands: Drain, (STH) added to deviate from another band called Drain, sth, for the band’s home town of Stockholm, Sweden, began in 1993, and were the first all-female band from Sweden to break into the U.S. market with their heavy grunge, metal sound that put them at the front lines of such venues as Ozzfest, rare for any all-female band, and toured with Megadeath and Black Sabbath among many others that helped the band gain a strong following of fans outside of Sweden. Drain STH produced one Ep, and two studio albums before their abrupt ending in 2000. At the height of the band’s popularity and success, vocalist Maria left the band in 2000, wanting to retire from music, the remaining members felt simply adding a new lead vocalist would not be the same, this along with constant touring and recording left the remaining members in need of a break. Fans were left reeling after Drain disbanded, and even though all of the members, minus vocalist Maria Sjoholm continue to make music
