TheCGBros Presents “Luminescent | A UE5 Short“ - by Rotu Entertainment/Rotu Art Department - a man find himself in the mysterious island cave pit, while he fascinates , he quickly realizes, that this place is unusual cave pit with full of wonders. Luminescent showcases what we can do as immersive filmmakers. also showcases unannounced game environment. The ROTU team is blurring the line between gaming and virtual production. “Luminescent” was created in a week using an “iPhone” as a Virtual Camera to capture natural movement. In the past two years, ROTU been working on digital tools in UE5, turning iteration time from weeks to days. The environments in “Luminescent” are from a private catalog of photorealistic digital movie sets & game-ready digital worlds. “When we (ROTU) started working on VR games and trailers, we only had Unreal Engine 4 and already pushed the limits of what we can achieve with digital realism. When Unreal Engine 5 with the “Lumen” and “Nanite” technology was announced, we knew our potential was limitless,” said Creative Director Emir Cerman. “We want to push virtual boundaries, not just in games but the film as well, inspiring and helping creatives bring imaginative words to life.” At the beginning of the pandemic, the use of virtual production in entertainment proliferated. This fascinating new technology requires photorealistic digital environments to be optimized for large LED panels. ROTU saw an opportunity to utilize VR optimization experience for this new era of filmmaking. Partnering with VFX titans Neville Page, Robert Rodriguez, Ian Hunter, and AJ Wedding, gave ROTU the technical opportunity to work with the cutting-edge screens at Orbital Virtual Studios, helping to define the future of storytelling.
