AMC Renault Jeep Sales Training 1983

Filmed in 1982, with hidden cameras, this 2 hour training video goes though the downright brutal sales tactics some at AMC was using at the time. This is NOT your usual training video, and it showed things in a harsh, honest light. Skip ahead to 1:14:30 to see “the close“ which is guaranteed to make you uncomfortable. In ’82, AMC was in the depths of its darkest times. The US government decided they were not worth saving, Renault owned enough of the company for it to be considered Franco-American Motors, Available Jeeps were all old and stale. AMCs hottest car was a warmed over 12-year old Hornet wagon with 4WD. The small cars provided by Renault were... utter crap. It’s in this environment that these films were shot. These salesmen were trying to scrape out a living selling the automotive equivalent of last weeks leftovers and imitation escargot in a can. Full of live shots of AMC dealer showrooms, Renaults you just don’t see anymore and early 80’s traffic.
