Jewellery Boutique (1966)

Jermyn Street, London. A policeman walks along Jermyn Street and stops to look at jewellery in the window of a shop with an abstract metal front. Inside we see designer and jewellery boutique owner Andrew Grima taking a tray of jewellery from a safe into a dressing room where models are preening; Andrew and the jewels are followed by a uniformed security man. Good shots of the girls putting on make-up; one wears a bridal gown and veil. Andrew selects items of jewellery for the girls to wear; C/Us of several pieces. At a party (presumably for publicity for Grima) we see numerous glamorous guests including Lord Snowdon (Anthony Armstrong-Jones); guests examine the necklaces, earrings and brooches the girls are wearing and drink from gold goblets; the security man hovers about. Lord Snowdon is presented with a gold miniature of the aviary he designed for Regent’s Park Zoo. Cuts exist - see separate record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
