The Scramble for Africa was fueled by a combination of economic interests, imperial rivalries, and the prevailing belief in European racial superiority. It was a period marked by exploitation, violence, and the imposition of colonial rule on African societies. European powers viewed Africa as a treasure trove of natural resources, including minerals, timber, and agricultural products. The desire to control these resources and exploit them for profit drove much of the colonial expansion in Africa. The Scramble for Africa unleashed a wave of violence and oppression, as European colonizers brutally subjugated indigenous populations, exploited their labor, and plundered their lands ✅COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER Historical Africa doesn’t fully own some of the materials compiled in its videos.
