Weather Beaten Blues - Teddy Weatherford Piano Solo

Here’s Teddy Weatherford’s recording of Weather Beaten Blues, recorded on June 23, 1937, in Paris, France. It’s a nice bluesy little tune, with lots of colorful runs, which may have inspired Jelly Roll Morton’s recording “Sweet Jazz Music.“ Weatherford was often recognized as the man who brought jazz to India, yet he often doesn’t receive the recognition that he deserves. Almost sounding like a mix of Fats Waller and Early Hines, he offers quite a unique approach to the style. #earlyjazz #stridepiano
