Angelina Jolie’s G8 speech in London about preventing wartime rape

Angelina Jolie addressed G8 foreign ministers in London on Thursday, along with William Hague, and discussed tackling war-zone sexual violence and violence against women and girls. It was announced at the summit that the UK government will spend a further £10 million on ending sexual violence in conflict. Mr Hague said the commitment was necessary to “end the treatment of rape and sexual violence as a secondary issue and to put women and women’s rights front and centre in conflict resolution.“
