Carlos Botto - 10 Preludes for Piano Op.3

He entered the National Conservatory of Music in 1948, where he had as teachers Herminia Raccagni (piano), Gustavo Becerra, Domingo Santa Cruz and Juan Orrego Salas in composition. In 1955, the Faculty of Sciences and Musical Arts of the University of Chile awarded him the degrees of Bachelor of Higher Performance with a mention in Piano and Bachelor of Music Composition, which he obtained with maximum distinction. A scholarship the following year from the Guggenheim Foundation, he did postgraduate studies with Luigi Dallapiccola, in New York. He taught in his specialty both at the University of Chile and at the Modern School of Music and at the Inter-American Institute of Music Education of the OAS (Organization of American States).
