Ruang Volcano Eruption Update; New Major Eruption Occurs, Largest on Record

One of the most powerful volcanic eruptions on the planet of the current decade occurred earlier today, sending a plume of ash to a height of 82,000 feet. Pyroclastic flows swept across large sectors of the Ruang volcano, and widespread ash and lapilli was deposited in sections of Indonesia. At least several hundred homes were destroyed or damaged by my own estimate via an eruption which was larger than Ruang’s April 17th eruption.
