USPS loses billions of dollars

The US Postal Service has announced an ambitious 10-year plan to implement “new service standards.“ The plan includes investments in technology, training, and a new fleet of delivery vehicles. The plan slows the target delivery time by about thirty percent, especially mail going long distances. First-class packages won’t be impacted. USPS suffered a $3 billion last quarter and a $2.2 billion loss the year before. They have planned a price hike to make up the difference, set to commence on the day after Christmas.
