“And then, on the morning of the recording, when we’re ready to start, [altoist] Rolf Billberg comes to me and tells me, “you know, Lasse isn’t well at all. He’s in hospital, being injected with vitamins and such“. [Due to serious substance abuse problems, Gullin was very ill at the time].
The conductor didn’t know about any of this, and we were just praying that [Gullin] would be there eventually. So they started rehearsing with the orchestra, and then, after a couple of minutes of playing, Lasse suddenly shows up, unpacks his hor
