Shukkeien Garden, Hiroshima in 4K - 縮景園 広島 - Japan As It Truly Is

Shukkeien Garden is one of western Japan’s most fantastic gardens - yet so few actually discover it and enjoy its beauty. Shukkeien Garden was created in 1620 and is one of Japan’s most beautiful and elegant places. It was completely destroyed by the A-Bomb blast yet was rebuilt and today is one of the most impressive gardens to visit in the area - yet so few people actually do. There are special places to view most of the year - plum blossoms (in bloom late Jan to early Mar), cherry blossoms & peach blossoms (late Mar to early Apr), and autumn leaves in November. At other times in the spring, you can also see peonies, hydrangea, and Japanese lilies. The truly sad thing is that many tourists come to Hiroshima as a day trip, stampede to the Peace Park & Museum, and then leave. Few ever discover this wonderful Japanese garden or other gems like the Mitakidera Temple. Shukkeien Garden is open 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Apr-Sep. Until 5 PM Oct-Mar. Last entry is 30 minutes before clos
