Naughty Chain-Smoking Chimpanzee. Filmed in 1967 at Paignton Zoo, Devon, UK - 17 year old, Charlie the Chimp seems to have picked up a naughty habit and enjoys nothing more than puffing away on his cigarette. Kicking the habit may be difficult whilst the zoo keeper continues to encourage him! Smoking chimps feature quite a lot in the British Pathe Archive when obviously they didn’t know about the effects of smoking on human health or on animals!
