Molter: Trumpet Concertos Complete

Composer: Johann Melchior Molter Artists: Otto Sauter (trumpet I), Franz Wagnermeyer (trumpet II), Cappella Istropolitana, Nicol Matt (conductor) Pleasant straightforward Baroque music by Johann Melchior Molter (1696 - 1765) whose large output contains music in all genres. Much of his larger instrumental works were conceived for the orchestra of the Margrave Carl Friedrich. Molter’s concertos for a single (3) and two trumpets (5) and string orchestra have been recorded before. But this set has more to offer. Both Concertinos and both Sinfonias Concertante with trumpet parts are included as well. The Concertinos are remarkable since they have been written for trumpet, 2 oboes and bassoon. Trumpet player Otto Sauter has specialized on the piccolo trumpet and is as such in great demand. Together with Franz Wagnermeyer he has recorded all trumpet parts written by Molter. The more than capable musicians of the Cappella Istropolitana provide the accompaniment allowing these wind instruments
