Despite the achievements of so-called modernity, humanity finds itself in times of unprecedented isolation. Isolation not only from the mother earth, the root of our existence, but above all from each other. The Ubuntu philosophy of life of the Zulu, the largest ethnic group in South Africa, reminds us that we are only through and with each other. Ubuntu is about recognizing our shared humanity and understanding that we are all connected. It teaches us that our well-being is tied to the well-being of others, encouraging us to act with kindness, empathy, and compassion. We need each other, and only through creating a world where everyone belongs, we can truly heal.
