Rescuing a baby flying-fox dropped off at the office: this is Brooke

Brooke is a baby Grey-Headed Flying-Fox around 10.5 weeks old. She was found on the road by a wildlife rescuer and dropped into the wildlife office because she just happened to work in the same building. She’s quite quiet and appears to have hit her head, which is standard for new flyers who have crashed landed somewhere. she took a couple of days before she perked up and decided she felt better. After a week she went into the creche cage for fast track early release. She’s a wild baby who has experienced life in the colony and the wild. She knows the taste of wild foods and a little bit about how to find it. She will do well when she’s released in about a month. Update: One month later, she is in the creche release aviary now on track for release when the hatch is opened.
