April 9th (2015) - Largely Overlooked Decent Movie about German Invasion into Denmark in 1940

Movie that is based on real events about Danish army based in Southern Jutland (a military unit on bicycles) that was sent to help hold back the Germans until reinforcement. Don’t look for epic battle scenes in this one, although this “finale“ scene in the video is not the only one, and there were some good previous action moments in it. For me, this movie is largely “down to earth“ and realistic in it’s approach which adds to the feeling that it is real what is happening. The Germans seemed unstoppable and I nearly laughed when the Danish soldiers spotted German scout car and called it a “tank“ - to them it was. Also, the movie didn’t try-hard to portray the Germans in as bad light as possible at all cost. A rare quality. Also, I really liked Pilou Asbæk in his role of second lieutenant that we basically follow in this movie. I think it was the best fit for him yet and he was the top cast of the movie for sure. That being said, having Lars Mikkelsen in it didn’t hurt either. Overall, IMO this is a quality movie that deserves more recognition. I recommend.
