Police order London New Year revellers to go home as some defy Covid-19 restrictions

Police ordered people to go home in central London on Friday, as some defied Covid-19 restrictions to gather near Westminster for New Year’s Eve. Both 11 o’clock and midnight saw Big Ben chime to mark both the end of the Brexit transition period and the beginning of 2021. Small crowds gathered to watch.
