Maasai Cricket Warriors - Kenyan Maasai Warriors Exchange Their Spears For Cricket Bats

27 March 2011 Maasai Warriors from the Laikipia region in Kenya have exchanged their spears for cricket bats and they are using cricket as a vehicle to empower youth and to target social problems in order to bring about positive change in their communities. Kenya lost all of their 2011 World Cup cricket matches and bowed out at the group stage, but new plans to promote the sport among Kenya’s Maasai people could help unearth new sporting stars to reverse the country’s cricketing decline.
