Alexander Gergelyfi, clavichord: Allegro F-Major by Anton Ferdinand Paris

Alexander Gergelyfi, clavichord: Allegro F-Major by Anton Ferdinand Paris Filmed at the Admont Abbey Library (“Stiftsbibliothek“), Austria From the new album “Sapperlot!“, released November 11th, 2022 The original “Admont“ clavichord used for this recording may be the oldest surviving Austrian clavichord. It is undated and unsigned, but was probably built around 1700. “In order to escape the Salzburg drizzle, the windows are closed, the fireplace in the parlour is lit and water is put on. For his own amusement, the fine gentleman sits down at his clavichord and on top of nimble bass notes fantasises elaborate melodies that become even more subtle with each repetition. His left and right hand alternate with virtuosic gestures and lead the idea to a brilliant conclusion. The tea kettle is whistling and the rain has been replaced with bright sunshine.“ A. Gergelyfi
