Spacey Fretless Funk Rock Bass Grooves with Delay

Funky good times on my fretless Cortex with some fun spaced out grooves with delay, harmonics, slides and other fretless fun :) I’m playing a custom Cortex bass from Switzerland strung up with Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinkys. Woods are flamed maple/walnut with a spalted maple top, it’s loaded with a Nordstrand dual coil pickup with 2 band eq. This baby growls, I’ve been looking for some time at combining these woods and specs for a fretless and am thrilled how the bass turned out, props to luthier Paul Lairat and to Pierre Camilleri, the man behind Cortex. Besides this punchy bass I used an analogue Carl Martin Delayla XL pedal, a Rodenberg 707b booster and a Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor. The signal was recorded with the DI of my Alpha Omega Ultra straight into my audio interface. Drums were made with Korg percussion pads & Addictive Drums, mixing & mastering was done in Cubase.
