Josef Labor : Andante of the Sonata / Prelude “Tui Sunt“

Josef Labor (1842-1924), played by Ian Coleman. Organ of Saint Ignatius, Samford Hill, London. Labor was a friend of the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, who held his works in high esteem, even considering that he was one of the few great composers among his contemporaries. I think listening to Labor’s chamber music would have allowed us to be more easily convinced of it. I found it interesting anyway, because L.W keeps referring to Labor’s music in his writings, and we rarely have the occasion to hear it!
