Жамбыл Жабаев казахский советский поэт-акын, лауреат Сталинской премии второй степени. Родился 28 февраля 1846 года у подножия горы Жамбул (ныне Жамбылский район Алматинской области). Рос независимым и озорным мальчиком, у своей матери Улдан он научился игре на кобызе и домбре. Очень рано почувствовал тяготение к поэтическому творчеству. С детства исполнял отрывки из эпосов «Кобланды», «Алпамыс», кыргызского эпоса «Манас», произведений «Сказание о Рустеме», «Кероглы». Zhambyl Zhabayev is a Kazakh Soviet poet-akyn, laureate of the Stalin Prize of the second degree. Born on February 28, 1846 at the foot of the Zhambul mountain (now the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region). Growing up as an independent and mischievous boy, he learned to play the kobyz and dombra from his mother Uldan. Very early on, he felt an attraction to poetry. Since childhood, he performed excerpts from the epics “Koblandy“, “Alpamys“, the Kyrgyz epic “Manas“, the works “The Legend of Rustem“, “Korogly“.
