Some systems like Balintawak Arnis Cuentada from Grandmaster Bobby Taboada call this Shadow Fighting. Similar to boxers, kick boxers and Muay Thai fighter’s shadow boxing. The person practices their footwork, blocks and attacks while envisioning they are fighting an opponent (or multiple opponents). Usually done solo when you don’t have a training partner around.
