Grace & Equipoise (1933)

Titles read: “Grace & equipoise by The Valmar Trio. Here is equipoise brought to a very fine - and skilful - art.“ London (probably Pathe studio). Several shots of the Valmar Trio performing their act. They start off with the man, in silk shirt and beret, painting a picture of the two girls (in sparkly two-piece costumes) who are standing on a raised platform in a sort of classical balance pose. Visuals cut out for a few seconds (probably originally a fadeout). Fade in to M/S of the man lying on his back on the platform with his legs in the air; one girl is standing on the soles of his feet and the other girl slowly makes her way from the platform to a similar position. The girls do several balances, with the second girl eventually moving over the head of the first one to stand behind her. She moves back again and stands in front of the first girl. Then all three get down from the platform and stand beside the platform. Note: could be viewed in a slightly sinist
