Newark School of Violin Making 2016 Lord Wilton Challenge

As part of the Yehudi Menuhin centenary celebrations a group of students from Newark School of Violin Making were challenged to produce a copy of Menuhin’s fabled ’Lord Wilton’ Guarneri violin. This video follows a team of students through an intense week of making finishing with a violin made to be sold to support the Trent Chamber Academy, an orchestra to which many of the students at Newark belong. The project was supported by Benjamin Hebbert Violins Limited and forms part of the MenuhinCentenary project:
