Ovo je prvo zvanično testiranje najmoćnijeg ruskog PVO sistema S-500 Trijumfator-M. Zamenik premijera Jurij Borisov je bio najavio početak državnih ispitivanja PVO sistema S-500 još avgusta 2020. godine, a ovih dana je i zvanično objavljeno njegovo testiranje. Kako je objavilo ministarstvo odbrane Rusije na poligonu Kapustin jar testiran je najnoviji protivvazduhoplovni raketni sistem S-500. Na poligonu Kaputstin jar cilj je bio balistička raketa, a rezultat gađanja bio je pogodak brze balističke mete. Testovi novog PVO sistema S-500 su potvrdili njegove taktičke i tehničke karakteristike deklarisane od strane proizvođača Almaz-Antej i visoku pouzdanost ruskih PVO sistema. „Nakon završetka punog ciklusa ispitivanja, planovi za opremanje predviđaju isporuku prvog sistema S-500 Trijumfator-M jedinici protivvazduhoplovne odbrane u blizini Moskve iz sastava 1. Armije ProtivVazduhoplovne i ProtivRaketneOdbrane“. S-500 Prometej (Triumfator-M) pripada novoj generaciji protivvazduhoplovnih sistema. To je univerzalni presretački kompleks velikog dometa i velike visine sa velikim sposobnostima za protivraketnu odbranu. Perspektivni sistem je sposoban da uništi ne samo balističke, već i aerodinamične ciljeve (avione, helikoptere), kao i krstareće rakete. Radijus uništenja ciljeva u vazduhu je do 600 kilometara.
