Bodhi: ‘Little hand says it’s time to rock and roll…’ Summer 1991, Ratt released the final single of their career, “Nobody Rides for Free“ which appeared on Point Break’s soundtrack album and featured in this cult classic film as the closing credits roll. The title track was penned by songwriter Steven Caton, and the four-minute-plus track is also featured on Rhino’s Tell the World: The Very Best of Ratt - a compilation CD that collects 20 tracks from the popular Los Angeles hard rock quintet’s releases. The song and video clearly signal a change in the band. Robbin Crosby did not participate in the recording of the song and was not present for the shooting of the video in which only the four remaining members appeared - The band never again recorded or performed with the original five members. The music video for the song, showing the band playing on a beach, still is a cool promotional video which intercut film clips from the surf-crazed movie into a Ratt seaside performance. Furthermore, the action thriller still has the balls to give you an adrenaline rush, mainly among enthusiasts for big thrills (Surf and Xtrem sports) and as the tag line states: its ‘100% Pure Adrenaline’.
