외국인 한국에서 살기 힘든 이유 - Why expat life is hard - Foreigner working in Korea VLOG

저는 한국에 온지 7년 넘었는 벨기에 여자입니다. 한국을 좋아하니까 여기서 생활하고 있는데 먼 타국에서 살고 있어서 힘든 날도 많아요. 많은 한국분들이 문화차이나 음식때문에 힘들지 않냐고 하는데 솔직하게 말하면 그런 부분들 그렇게 중요하지 않아요. 가장 어려운 점은 가족과 멀리 있는 것이죠. 부모님도 보고싶고, 동생도 보고싶고 고향 친구들도 그리워요. 저희 최근에 대전으로 이사갔죠? 집은 대전이지만 저는 현재 대전에서 일하고 있지 않아요. 한국과학잠수연구소에서 메니저와 공연자로 일하고 있는데 지금 부산 아쿠아리움에서 인어공연 하고 있어요. 제가 어떻게 출퇴근하고 있는지 외국인으로써 무슨 일을 하고 있는지 사람들에게 보여주고 싶었는데 찍으면서 좀 슬픈 소식을 들었네요. 얼른 유럽에 가서 가족과 함께 잇고 싶어요. I’ve been living in Korea for over 7 years now! I first came as a student and now I’m working as a manager and mermaid performer at the Korean Scientific Diving Institute. Life in a foreign country is hard sometimes. Many people ask me how I manage the cultural differences between Korea and Belgium. But to be honest, I love living in Korea so different culture or food doesn’t bother me very much. I do sometimes get very lonely. My house is in Daejeon, but I work in Busan. This means that I often have to spend time by myself. I decided to make a vlog to show you my daily life in Korea. I wanted to show how I go to work by ktx train and what I usually eat. But while filming, I got some sad news from my mother. This made me realise that the hardest part of immigrating to another country, is being far away from my family. Expat life is hard. I have to miss so many important things. I cannot be there for my family when they are having a hard time. Having an interracial and intercultural relationship can sometimes be difficult. I love my husband so much. He supports me with everything I do. However, being far from my family sometimes makes me very sad.
