SideFX Houdini - 9 tricks to master procedural environments
You are probably aware that sideFX organized past month the Mardini Challenge, a daily competition in which you could win some prizes. Rules were simple everything had to be 100% made inside Houdini, so no external models or megascan, just texture files were allowed.
Everyday started with a new theme and you had to work with that ! It was a fun exercise that really forced me to shoot straight to the point and deliver one art in a day...
It’s been a very busy time for me at ILM... still is actually0 xD But using this rainy week end to finally re-open my old scenes. Sharing here with you some of my secrets to model procedural environments based on Mardini’s contribution.
