Hyunjin cult context: In Korea, there’s quite a bit of cults (as in most countries). They usually recruit new members by stopping people on the streets to talk to them, and try and get them to join by having them follow them back to their place of worship. In Hyunjin’s case (short summary), he was young and naive when this happened. He previously stated that he thought they (the cult member) seemed friendly so he followed them back to their headquarters. They then started to ask for money, so Hyunjin lied and said he didn’t have much and gtfo. Cult = An extreme form of religious group, that often times have stong beliefs and fear of an oncoming doomsday. They have an eccentric, charasmatic, and manipulatative self-appointed leader.
