Hermit Knight - Upon The Dawn of the Vermilion Glaive (full abum, 2023)

Following the video expedition of Hermit Knight, I present to you the full album from when that vignette adventure came () Released on 1st June to an instantly sold-out run of 50 powder-blue cassettes through Cosmic Ocean, Upon The Dawn of the Vermilion Glaive is one of two simultaneous releases from the enigmatic, wistfully heroic Hermit Knight, along with Raise Your Heart Towards The Heavens Child, which will be available on tape later this month from Realm and Ritual and CDr through Relics of the Eternal City. ‘Upon the Dawn…’ is characterised by a charming nostalgic reverie, that ebbs between the worlds of comfy and dungeon synth, stoking the soothing fires romantic medievalism with softly rousing percussion and harmonic tones of gentle retro fidelity. As Cosmic Ocean put it; “This music connects on an intimate level, beautifully mournful and washed through with rushing waves of fuzzy synthesisers & strings. A powerful release from Hermit Knight, best listened to at the end of a day, whilst in a reflective mood.” Though sold out from the label, the album remans perpetually available in digital format from the Hermit Knight Bandcamp: Artist: Hermit Knight Album: Upon The Dawn of the Vermilion Glaive Year: 2023 Label: Cosmic Ocean Country: USA Genre: Dungeon Synth Dungeon Synth Sunday Playlists: @TransmissionsfromtheDark/playlists?view=50&sort=dd&shelf_id=7 Transmissions links: Album: Tracklist: 1. After honing his arts in the lowlands of Zeeland, he moved to Germany where he painted his most important landscapes, ranging from perilously perched castled, extensive river valleys to idyllic forest views dominated by one or more oaks. - Transmissions links - LinkTree: Instagram Facebook Page: Twitter Transmissions Banner image photography by Alison Scarpulla – untitled, 2010. #DungeonSynth #CosmicOcean #USDungeonSynth
