Barilaro resigns as New South Wales Deputy Premier

John Barilaro has resigned as Deputy Premier of New South Wales. In a statement released on Monday, Mr Barilaro said it was the right time to hand over the reins to new leadership and said the Nationals will hold a party room meeting on Wednesday to determine its next leader. He will also resign from his seat of Monaro, triggering a by-election.
