Franz Josef Hirt plays Bach -- Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp minor

Another largely forgotten Swiss pianist (and one who made quite a few recordings) is Franz Josef Hirt (1899-1985). He studied with Hans Huber, Ernst Levy, Egon Petri and Alfred Cortot. He taught the piano in Paris and Bern. Here is a 1927 recording of J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp minor, BWV 849, from the first book of The Well-Tempered Clavier.
