D-Day 80th Anniversary build - Short Stirling (Italeri 1/72 scale model)

Today is the 80th anniversary of D-Day - Operation Overlord - the Allied invasion of Normandy, France. To commemorate this I build this 1/72 model of the Short Stirling. Used earlier in the war as a four-engined bomber, the Stirling was removed from front line service in 1943 but still saw extension use until the end of the war. During D-Day Stirling aircraft were used to transport British paratroopers and tow Horsa gliders to key sites on the night of the 5/6 June 1944.
