Chief Conductor Teodor Currentzis is particularly fond of the LABs, as they allow him to share his musical ideas and thoughts on selected works from the upcoming concert programs with an interested audience. The LABs take a variety of forms: sometimes they take the form of a kind of master class with young conductors or soloists, sometimes they are a dialogue with composers or music specialists, or Teodor Currentzis dives into the depths of a composition together with two pianists. In the first Currentzis LAB of the 2021/2022 season, Teodor Currentzis invited the audience to an open orchestra rehearsal with the SWR Symphony Orchestra.
