Sunburst Clock

How to make a sunburst clock. This video shows how to make a beautiful wooden sunburst clock. The clock has 32 “rays” 16 inner and 16 outer. The rays are held in place with 9 mm wooden dowels. The whole clock measures approx 98 cm (38.5 inches) in diameter. The clock mechanism and self adhesive numbers were purchased online. The wood is stained in a rosewood dye and finished with a few coats of clear lacquer. I decided to paint the dowels white to give it some contrast but you can paint it any colour or stain it the same as the rest of the wood. It’s not fully shown in the video but the clock is held up in place with some keyhole fittings. Well I had intended to use some but I couldn’t get my hands on any in time so I just used some flat escutcheon plates which did the same job. I used these fittings as I wanted the clock to sit tight to the wall. ***Always be careful using tools and machinery*** Music: John Stockton Slow Drag by Chris Zabriskie is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license () Source: Artist:
