Anemoia: False Nostalgia

VHS filters, 80s and 90s recreations, vintage aesthetic everywhere you look, social media trends, revivalism in music and film. It’s all about nostalgia. Often times even about nostalgia for a time you weren’t even around yet. People call it anemoia and historical nostalgia. You find elements of this phenomenon in liminal spaces, LoFi-music or the overuse of vintage vhs and super-8 look on the internet.
