Vienna, Berlin authorities ban pro-Palestine protest | ANC

On The Scene: Police officers in Vienna and Berlin banned protests in support of Palestine. Vienna authorities say the phrase ’From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,’ which has been used by protesters, was a PLO (Palestine Liberation Organisation) slogan that has been adopted by Hamas and is seen as a call for violence. Meanwhile, in Berlin’s Kreuzberg-Neukoelln districts, the Police briefly detained some pro-Palestinian protesters. According to the Berlin police, the banning of the protests was justified because of a threat to public safety and security.
