Jeremy Harmer - Six key questions for teachers and trainers at the crossroads

Jeremy Harmer, a writer, trainer and teacher, is a faculty member in the MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program at The New School. Among his books are the prize winning Essential Teacher Knowledge, The Practice of English Language Teaching, How to Teach Writing, and How to Teach English. This session will take six key issues -- the use of IT, CLIL, the benefits/disadvantages of language testing, repetition (and behaviorism), correction and rapport - to demonstrate the diversity of opinion in an international ELT world. Jeremy will then suggest what a core methodology should look like in the light of such diversity.
