Last month, former “19 Kids and Counting” star Josh Duggar was arrested for allegedly possessing a trove of child pornography. It’s just the latest sickening episode for the ex-TLC reality show personality. The son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar has also been accused of molesting four of his sisters as well as another girl when he was a teenager, cheating on his wife and having a porn addiction. These allegations are shocking, especially in light of the Duggars’ ultrareligious upbringing. But people familiar with the family’s particular sect of fundamentalist Christianity, the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP), claim it has played a role in enabling abuse by Josh Duggar and others.
