In 1980 Elisabeth Schwarzkopf the renowned operatic and lieder soprano gave a Series of Public Masterclasses in the Freemasons’ Hall Edinburgh, Scotland, during the Edinburgh International Festival, one year following her retirement from the stage in 1979.
