Boardroom Jokes (1963)

Filey, Yorkshire. This story involves four men sat around in a board room, they are part of the Ellisdon family responsible for producing practical jokes. There are various shots of them testing walking matches, rubber hammers, wooden cakes and foam sugar lumps on each other. A representative goes out to a holiday camp to test them out on the ’unsuspecting’ public. He puts a plastic spider in a towel by the pool which sends the girls screaming, and some fake scratches on a man’s car. A nurse is fooled by a fake finger bandage. The rep is seen walking along with a fake arrow in his head. Cuts exist - see separate record. Note: According to the shot list there is a sequence missing from this finished version which involves men wearing masks to make them look like Macmillan, Kruschev and Kennedy, (see cuts). This Colour Pictorial was released two weeks after Kennedy’s assassination. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT’S FULL OF GREAT
