Dame Myra Hess (1890-1965) plays her arrangement of J.S. Bach’s Adagio from Adagio, Toccata & Fugue in C major, BWV 564.
Filmed in 1954.
Though the sound is quite wobbly from time to time, I think it is a moving document, if only because to my knowledge it’s the only existing filmed footage of Myra Hess addressing her audience after playing.
