SRST Sessions emerges as a bridge, purposefully constructed to span the gap between the realms of music academia at institutions like RISD and Brown University and the dynamic local music scene that pulsates through Providence and its surrounding areas. At the heart of this endeavor lies the Studio for Research in Sound and Technology (SRST), a cutting-edge facility at RISD equipped with a formidable 25.4 channel speaker array. Initially established as a space for teaching spatial audio and ambisonics, the SRST has organically evolved into a hub for artistic practice, live performances, and sonic exploration over the years.
